It is easy to forget in 2016 that for much of the 1990s and early 2000s Manchester United and Arsenal were the main rivals, and clubs, in the Premier League. With Arsenal seeming to be habitually destined to finish 4th, and United completely lost without Sir Alex Ferguson, other teams and rivalries have taken over the mantle of greatness once held by the two sides.
But the early Premier League was, in many ways, a showdown between Arsenal and United. One of the two clubs won every Premier League until 2004, except for 1994 (when Blackburn pulled off a Leicester and shockingly won).
